What is a browser?

A browser is a software program that provides the window for viewing the pages on the Internet.

Some browsers are:
Internet Explorer | Safari | Netscape | Opera
Mozilla Firefox | AOL | Lynx (text only)

One challenge web designers have is to
accomodate as many browsers as possible as
they all interpret the pages differently. At one
point Opera had misaligned the right image on
this page. Now Netscape slightly misaligns one
page.
